Zaku II Garma Zabi Use

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the MG Zaku 2.0 - Zaku II Garma Zabi Use, released as a Club G exclusive. The HGUC version had a general retail release at one point, but the MG ended up coming out as a limited edition.

The base body uses the existing MG Zaku 2.0 Type F as its foundation, with the parts swapped out for Garma's distinctive head. Weapons-wise, in addition to the standard Zaku armaments, a brand-new Heat Hawk exclusive to Garma has been added. On top of that, the Magella Top Gun and Sturm Fausts from the MG Zaku 1.0 are also included, making this a pretty well-armed kit overall.

The newly added Garma-exclusive Heat Hawk is pulled off quite nicely with a relatively small number of parts, and it really does serve as a highlight of the kit. That said, the Magella Top Gun — the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Garma's Zaku — is the old 1.0-era version, so it feels a little mismatched. The detail looks dated, and on top of that it doesn't pair well with the Zaku 2.0's articulated hands, making it feel a bit precarious to hold.

Either way, this limited release is significant simply for the fact that Garma's Zaku has finally gotten the MG treatment — and with the exclusive weapon added plus a solid lineup of accessories, it's a kit that any Zaku 2.0 collector really shouldn't miss. :-)
