The White Ogre from MS IGLOO II: Gravity Front has been released as a variation of the Zaku II ver.2.0. It came out as something of a limited Asia-region commemorative release, but was later reclassified as a standard release, which caused a bit of confusion. At first glance it might look like just a simple color variant, but... it comes with a new runner containing spare ammo cases. It's a pretty modest addition, but once you actually build it and attach them, they look surprisingly sharp. ^_^ The second highlight of this kit is the White Ogre-specific decals and seals — they definitely give it a different feel from the standard release. The lizard decals on the head and shoulders in particular are just gorgeous.

Since this is fundamentally a color variant of an already top-tier kit, the quality goes without saying — it's excellent. Strictly speaking, the White Ogre should be covered in some pretty heavy weathering... but I didn't have the time or the skill for that, so I kept it clean with just gray panel lining. If I'd gone ahead and done full weathering, it would've turned into a diorama piece rather than a kit review — but either way, just think of it as the White Ogre freshly washed (or freshly Zaku'd?) before heading out to battle... Whether you call it a limited edition or a commemorative release is a bit ambiguous, but between the striking pure-white molded color, the White Ogre decals, and the spare ammo cases you can't get anywhere else, this kit has plenty going for it. If you fell for the White Ogre's look in Gravity Front, this is definitely something you shouldn't hesitate to grab. :-)
