The Zaku II mass production type has been released as the final Crystal Version. Since it's essentially just a change in molded material, it shares the exact same characteristics as the Zaku II Char's Custom Crystal Version.
First off, going Crystal Version means the joints are a bit stiffer, which makes posing a lot easier — and the grip strength in particular got incredibly tight, so it holds weapons really well. Compared to Char's custom, the mass production type swaps out the Magella Top cannon and Sturm Faust for a machine gun and missile pod, and all of them are done in clear material.
The Crystal Version's color for the mass production type is much brighter than the actual greenish color, giving it a strong transparent feel. Because of that, the inner frame is even more visible than on Char's custom — and the backpack in particular is molded entirely in clear material, so you can see straight through it. One thing about the Crystal Version is that the material is hard, which makes cleaning up gates a little tricky, but given the color, it doesn't seem to show up too badly.
The Crystal Version series, which somehow looks a little higher quality than the originals, has had no further official releases after these three kits — it would've been fun to see it applied to a wider range of suits. :-)
