The product box. This isn't a shipping box — this plain thing IS the actual packaging box.
Shipped in a plain cardboard box with no illustration or even the name printed on it;;
Opening the box. This is the moment your hopes of finding some kind of fancy product box get crushed ^^;
The runners are packed tightly in two sections like this..
If you look carefully, you can spot duplicate runners right from the start.
This kit uses system injection, but it seems like they couldn't be bothered doing proper color separation the way Okawara Kunio intended..
So instead, they just molded the parts with ambiguous system injection boundaries in multiple copies in different colors.
In other words, in practice only the red chest duct parts at the bottom are actually used from the left runner — everything else is leftover parts..;;
According to the dedicated manual, you only use the parts that aren't covered in blue when assembling.
The armor runners with the shield, head, lower body, and forearms come in three copies — black, gray, and white;;
Of course, you pick and choose parts from those three runners depending on the section..
So in theory, two runners' worth of parts end up as leftover parts!
The real showstopper is the basic armor parts for the arms and legs.
These are molded in 3 colors — green, gray, and black — with 2 copies each.
That means 4 runners' worth end up as leftover parts..
A bizarre limited edition where a total of 7 runners' worth of leftover parts remain — nearly matching the actual kit parts in volume..
One thing — there is a change to the runners.
The two separate knee armor pieces (upper and lower) shown in the left circle were originally..
A single connected part, like the arrow part on the right.
Since the color scheme here has the upper and lower knee sections in different colors.. the part was split into two separate pieces for this limited edition,
and added to one side of the runner. (The circled parts are not present in the original kit)
In other words, the runner was modified/added in order to achieve color separation on what was originally a single front leg armor piece.
In addition to the original MG Gundam Ver. O.Y.W. 0079 manual, a dedicated 4-page supplemental manual is included.
