Just like the backpack, there are gold metal chains — 2 at the ankle and 2 behind the knee.
Spring-loaded ankle suspension.
The mechanical linkage that works in tandem with the suspension is really impressive.
The cylinder at the front of the ankle operates on a ball joint — free to move in all directions, front, back, and side to side.
The foot is split into two sections, allowing for a wide variety of angles. It can even pull off angles like this..

The knee joint splits into a double section and folds via a slide mechanism.
Internal frame movement at the knee joint.
The duct at the bottom of the leg is, of course~, articulated.
Outer armor removed
The mold detail carries through faithfully to the inside of the outer armor as well.
The cylinder at the connection point to the body.
The cylinder at the front of the knee. There are 3 cylinders on the foot alone.
The side panels at the ankle open and close widely up and down like a skirt.
The gold chains(?) behind the knee/ankle
The leg is completed by combining three movable frames.
First, slide the ankle section into the bottom of the shin section..
Lower the pipe connector and it locks right into place.
Insert the gold chain from the top and lower the side skirt panel — shin-to-foot connection complete
Slide the thigh section into the top of the shin section above the knee.
Fold and lock the joint fixture at the front of the knee and the assembly is complete.
On the leg section, hatch opens are only on the shin.
