Photo The one on the left is the regular RD 1/60, and the one on the right is the PG.
Oh wow. The PG is way too tall;; Are they really the same scale??
The PG is nice and slender~
The shield detail has a very different feel to it.
The body. The PG is slimmer and has more complex detail.
The back is slim too~
The head is a bit smaller and the head antenna are more slender too..
The arm detail makes it feel like an almost completely different unit..
The PG has gotten quite slim.
The difference in foot size is especially striking.. Looking at it now, the 1/60 RD's feet seem ridiculously oversized;;
The PG beam rifle on the bottom — not only is the detail better, but it feels noticeably larger overall.
There's a big difference in the shield molding. Same goes for the interior molding..
The Armor Schneider is bigger on the PG too. ^^;
Articulation comparison. It's almost embarrassing~
Ah, but! There are two areas where the PG falls short, and one of them is the forward/backward shoulder articulation. The PG's shoulder swing front-to-back is a bit limited — the 1/60 RD actually bends a little further.
Second, on the PG the connection point where the rifle plugs into the hand is weak, so it keeps falling off — whereas on the 1/60 RD it stays on just fine. Part of it is that the PG beam rifle is heavier, but still..
The 1/60 RD weapon packs cannot be attached to the PG! That's because all the backpack connection points use round pins..
The PG Strike's back has long rectangular polycaps instead of round holes. You might think you could just force them in, but the holes don't line up properly, and the body contour doesn't match the backpacks either — so they won't sit on at all. In short, the backpacks are completely incompatible.
For the Sword shoulder armor, you can sort of drape it on loosely. As you can see in the photo, there's no satisfying tight fit — you can only just barely rest it on there.
The PG's grip strength is weak, and the palm pegs face opposite directions, so getting it to hold the sword properly isn't easy.
The Launcher shoulder pack is even worse — it won't even sit on at all. With the current design, attachment is simply impossible.
Oh well.. about the best you can do is have it hold just the launcher. (Hey~ it actually looks pretty cool in its own way~)
Weapon size comparison. I thought the Grand Slam was big, but the Sword is just ridiculously long.
The Strike family. Being the main character's unit, it's been released in a wide variety of scales and grades.
