Once disengaged, you can twist the lower body to transform it as shown on the right.
If you look closely at the arrow, you can see the small pin inside the rear skirt mounting hole moves along with it.
In the default position, pushing the rear skirt in deep causes the hole in the rear skirt's ball joint to lock onto this pin.
Looking at this transformation process more closely, as the lower body twists, the locking pin holding the hip joint releases.
With the locking pin released, you can drop the hip joint down at a 45-degree angle as shown to expand the range of motion.
It does give you more hip joint articulation, but the holding strength isn't great relative to the weight of the legs. So if you don't properly lock the hip joint using the two-step method described above, the hip movement gimmick can come undone on its own and leave the lower body flopping around. If you don't know how this gimmick works, you might mistakenly think the lower body is just unstable — so definitely keep this in mind.
The waist swings side to side across two points — the hip joint axis and the mid-waist section.
The joint strength isn't loose exactly, but it's less tight compared to the other joints.
This pivot axis probably should've been sturdier given the fin funnels, which is a bit of a shame.
Of course, putting it on a stand takes care of all those issues.

TOP ↑Bazooka frame and armor interior details.
The interior detail on the magazine is especially impressive.
You can rotate the beam rifle and bazooka handle gimmick to expose the mounting holes.
It's set up so all the mounting holes can be covered this way — a thoughtful, PG-worthy attention to detail.
▶ Fin Funnel
TOP ↑You can open up the mounting section to expose it, then attach a joint part to place it on the stand.
To mount them on the backpack, deploy and connect the locking pins in the configuration shown above.
