The canopy frame is molded in clear plastic, so I went ahead and hand-painted it black out of courtesy. ^^;

Opening the canopy. There isn't enough clearance to just flip it straight up,
so it's designed to slide forward slightly before opening. Nice touch.

Two pilot figures are included — Fllaga and Cagalli.
With the helmets on they honestly look pretty much the same, but you can tell them apart by their suits. ^^;

Cockpit detail. Not quite up to the level of top-tier aero kits, but there's a decent amount of effort put in.

Cockpit detail is one of the things aero kit fans scrutinize closely. This one holds up reasonably well.

Among the exterior seals, you get to choose the pilot's name to apply —
just like in the anime, you can pick one of three: Tooru, Cagalli, or Fllaga.
(But then why didn't they include a Tooru figure??)

Excellent color separation on the parts.
The wing color separation that would normally be handled with seals is actually done with separate parts here — it really makes you think, yep, PG is PG.

As a result, the wings look incredibly crisp and clean.

The duct on the front underside of the fuselage. The yellow color-separated parts inside really stand out.

Same goes for the rear duct. Color separation even on those deeply recessed inner sections — impressive.

The landing gear is detachable rather than retractable.
To attach the landing gear, you remove the landing gear covers and plug each landing gear piece into place.

For the front landing gear, you remove one cover panel, and the front section can still be posed open in a convincing way — almost like it's actually retractable.

If you look closely at the wheels, they're not perfectly round — the bottom surface is slightly flattened.
It seems like they were going for that squished tire look you see on aero kits, simulating the weight of gravity pressing down.
But honestly, since you're not going to be rolling this thing around anyway, the flat bottom actually helps it stay in place better, so it works out.

There are two holes under the wingtip weapon storage compartment where you can plug in the landing gear..

Depending on which hole you use, the angle and height of the landing gear changes.

The tail-up configuration is meant for when the Aile Pack is attached at the rear.

One of the coolest features on the Sky Grasper — the wing flaps actually move!

They move up and down through nearly 180 degrees like that. Now this is what a PG should feel like~

The Aile Pack mounting point at the rear is the exact same shape as the back of the PG Strike body.
(Well, of course it is — it's the same pack being plugged in;;)

The blue cover-like piece on the rear verniers also moves.

The beam cannon mounted on top can rotate and tilt up and down. Though the vertical range of motion is pretty limited.

1. Pull the white shoulder-shaped section backward,
2. lift the locking tab upward,
3. slide the blue cover to expose the polycap section.

Having the polycap exposed all the time would look pretty ugly, so covering it up like this is a nice touch~

But that gimmick is purely for the Launcher and Sword packs.. meaning it has nothing to do with attaching the Aile pack this time around.
They went through the trouble of making such a convincing gimmick, so the Sword and Launcher packs really need to come out too, right? ^^ Seems like it'll depend on market conditions.

That said, some of those gimmicks are used in the Aile Sky Grasper as well.
If you slide the white part back, a hole is revealed on the side..

You can plug the weapon mounting parts in on both sides like this.

This lets you attach the beam rifle and shield included with the PG Strike.

The polycap section for locking onto the stand is normally covered by a white cover like this.
You just slide it open to expose it when needed.

The included stand has this kind of structure, and can be set to 3 different angles depending on where you lock it.
Since it has to support a PG, the stand is absolutely massive.

The end of the stand has two different pegs —
one is mainly used for the Sky Grasper, and the other is for plugging into the Strike Gundam's underside.

The Sky Grasper — you could call it Bandai's take on an SF aerokit.
The lack of an inner frame makes it a bit of a stretch to call it PG-grade, but the overall quality is very clean.
