The box art has that premium feel, as expected..
The surface seems to have an extra coat or something — it's got this gorgeous glossy sheen all over.
The sides of the bottom box mention various grades of Zakus.
The solid one-piece frame for the torso and legs is pretty much the same as the RG RX-78-2.
The arm and side skirt attachment areas are similar too,
but the back of the feet looks completely different from the RX-78-2.
The flexible power pipe tubes are molded right onto the solid one-piece frame runner.
The bead-threading method I was curious about turns out to be the same as the recent MG Gouf 2.0.
It's not a multi-material injection type like the MG Zaku 2.0 — instead, you slide a pre-arranged set of beads on and off all at once.
Oh wait.. the gates on the beads are really tiny!
It's just like those Keroro or SEED Destiny no-grade kits where they minimized the gates for casual builders —
same kind of deal here.
Thanks to that, the beads pop off nice and easy, and you'll save a ton of time on gate cleanup.
The leg power pipes use springs, just like on MG kits.
Pastel-toned molded colors paired with slide molds used all over the place.
The weapons also get slide molds applied generously.
It's a bit surprising that even the sides of the Heat Hawk got the full 3D molding treatment.
Elaborate seals, just what you'd expect from an RG.
