Kit Review
Straight build + Panel lining + Seals
Galeon.
Going by the original design specs, the backs of the hands should be facing forward... but the manual guides you to this angle instead.
Gaigar + Drill Gao action poses.
The shoulder joints are sturdy enough to hold Drill Gao out horizontally.
When inserting Gaigar's legs into Drill Gao, align Gaigar's knees
horizontally with the fixing pins behind Drill Gao's drills.
It's a bit tricky in practice, but after a few tries you'll get the hang of it.
Slide Liner Gao into the hollow torso.
There's plenty of clearance so it goes in smoothly, and thanks to the PET stickers, no worrying about them getting scraped off either.
Lay the folded hatch flat against the underside of Stealth Gao,
then pull out the helmet connected by the lead wire.
Rotate the mane that was attached to the underside of Stealth Gao and clip it onto the sides of the Galeon head on the torso.
The mane doesn't connect all that securely and tends to pop off easily —
bending it as far as possible toward the torso helps a bit.
Putting the helmet on Gai-Ga's head.
The manual says to detach the mask from the helmet, place it over Gai-Ga's mouth, then put the helmet on...
But in practice it's hard to keep the mask in place, which makes it feel even trickier ;;
Also, the red parts on either side of the mask and helmet don't hold very well and tend to fall off.
I just glued the red parts and the mask all onto the helmet with bond, then transformed it by sliding the whole thing on from above —
That turned out to be way easier and safer.
The Protect Shade made from a PET sheet is attached by spreading the fingers wide and draping it over them.
Fully articulated hands molded via system injection are included, but...
the fingers pop off way, way too easily T_T
You can pretty much count on a finger falling off every time you try to pose them..
On top of that, the wrist rotation gimmick for the thumb is stiff,
so when you try to spread the thumb out to the side, it ends up pushing the back-of-hand parts off instead.
This causes the hand back to pop off way too often — so I just went ahead and glued it down with bond. (Much better that way..)
