This kit is the SD Nu Gundam, released in 1988 as BB Senshi No. 7. Numbers 1 through 6 were BB Senshi Sniper Battle Game versions, so calling them proper SD versions of original Gunpla was a bit of a stretch. In that sense, this SD Nu Gundam can really be considered the kit that fired the first shot for the original SD lineup.
It shows the kind of articulation you'd expect from a first-generation SD kit — basically just the head, arms, and feet rotating. That said, it does pull off a minimal color scheme through some color separation and seals, and paired with those slightly cross-eyed pupils, it delivers an undeniably cute look. Weapons-wise, it faithfully recreates the standard armaments minus the fin funnels, and true to the BB Senshi name, the bazooka is set up to actually fire BB pellets.
It's a pretty landmark SD kit in its own right, and even though it's an older release, it's a fun little build at the very affordable price of ¥300. In 1999, it was repackaged with fin funnels added as the G Generation SD Nu Gundamso keep that in mind if you're interested :-)
