Kit Review
Straight build
Straight build
The Guntank, one of the most beloved icons in the Gundam universe, has been given the SD treatment as a BB Senshi kit. Normally the big head is the main charm of any SD kit, but this one's head came out noticeably smaller compared to other SDs. That was probably an unavoidable choice given the massive cannons on both shoulders — but even so, it's got an adorably chunky SD-style proportion that really works. ^^
The color separation is pretty solid overall, so just slapping on a few yellow seals is enough to make the straight build look really sharp. The cute stubby forearms have a mid-joint that moves, and the shoulder cannons are articulated too, which is enough to pull off some pretty convincing poses. That said, there's no articulation at the waist or legs at all, so your posing options are pretty limited.;;
As a bonus, you can swap the upper and lower bodies with the BB Senshi First Gundam — and later with the Guncannon as well — for some extra fun. It's not exactly meaningful, but it's entertaining enough. ^^;
As one of the most adorable kits in the BB Senshi lineup, this is a fantastic SD kit that delivers both a satisfying build experience and a great finished look — even without a ton of articulation. Build it alongside the BB Senshi First Gundam and it gets even better. A real gem of an SD kit. :-)
