SD BB Senshi

Full Armor Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build

Following the BB Senshi Perfect Gundam, the Full Armor Gundam has now been released in SD form with a similar concept. The base body is identical to the BB Senshi Perfect Gundam's with only the molded colors being different, so you could really think of this as a variation kit that just swaps out the outer armor.

As you'd expect from a modern SD kit, the inner base body quality, outer armor, and the attachment/detachment process are all clean and tidy, and the color separation is done well enough that you get a decent range of colors even from just a straight build. Articulation does take a bit of a hit with all that armor piled on, but the sheer variety of weapons it's carrying means it looks great even in a simple pose.^^

Just like the Perfect Gundam, it also comes with a dedicated G Base and special head gear, and the feature of being able to mount all the Full Armor armor pieces onto the G Base is carried over as well. What's fun is that you can even combine the Perfect Gundam's G Base with the Full Armor Gundam's G Base — it's a non-canon special feature, but that kind of quirky charm is part of the appeal.

At ¥1000 it's on the pricier side for an SD kit, but the fun and well-rounded package makes it a satisfying build overall. As a rare SD release of an MSV design, it'd make a great gift for fans of the First Gundam side stories and original mecha. :-)
