Following the Aegis Gundam, Justice Gundam has now gotten the SD treatment too. It's molded in exactly the same colors as the other Justice Gundam kits at different scales, so it has a very familiar feel. ^^ The basic kit layout follows the same concept as the existing SD Gundam SEED series, and the highlight of this Justice Gundam is of course the large FATUM-00 weapons system on its back.
The gimmick of raising the FATUM-00 horizontally as per its design specs has been reproduced, but... due to the SD's characteristically oversized head, the beam cannons at the front end up getting in the way. So they came up with the clever idea of letting you detach those two beam cannons and plug them in to the sides, creating enough clearance for the head. ^^
The fully deployed flight mode with the FATUM-00's wings spread wide looks pretty impressive even at SD scale, and you can also recreate the action of detaching the FATUM-00 and riding on top of it. Just as the SD Aegis Gundam focused on reproducing its transformation gimmick, it seems like the SD Justice is all about making the most of the FATUM-00.
It's a solid, well-executed SD kit, and it should make a fun little treat for Gundam SEED series fans. :-)
