Zaku! — and of course that means tons of variations. Hot on the heels of the SD Gunner Zaku Warrior, the Blaze Zaku Phantom has been released as a BB Senshi. The body is naturally the same structure, but with an extra shoulder shield and the Blaze backpack added on.

Just like with the Gunner Zaku Warrior, the molded colors match the 1/100 and HG versions perfectly. The soft light pink and white go really nicely together. ^^ The updated proportions compared to older SDs pair well with the large Blaze backpack, and the Blaze Pack is nicely reproduced with fully movable missile pod covers up front and nozzle covers top and bottom at the rear.

The design has a certain flair to it overall, so even without much articulation it carries a real presence — it's a cute SD kit that I'd happily recommend to just about anyone. If I had to compare it to the Gunner Zaku Warrior, I'd say the brighter colors of the Blaze Zaku Phantom give it a slightly better look. :-)
