As a variation of SD Gundam Exia, Exia Repair II has been released as a BB Senshi kit. For starters, the molded colors are a bit darker, and the side/rear skirt sections have been changed to match the design specs. On top of that, seals have been added to the GN Sword blade, which was looking a bit bare before, so it's looking a fair bit better now.
That said, SD Gundam Exia was already a kit that felt a bit lacking in quality for its release period, so compared to more recent SD kits, there are quite a few shortcomings in various areas — articulation, detail, gimmicks, you name it. Compared to the immediately preceding 00 Gundam kit, the quality gap feels like about five years. ^^;
Exia Repair II comes with one bonus addition: a support mecha that lets you combine all the leftover parts from the Exia build. Once you plug all the leftover parts into the support mecha, it actually looks pretty decent. You can then attach it to the arm for a Giant Weapon Mode, or have Exia ride on top of it for a Rider Mode — both are BB Senshi original settings.
Anyway, while the quality is a step below other SD kits of the same era, they've made an effort to compensate by throwing in a fun little support mecha, so it's not a bad kit overall. The price did go up ¥800 because of it, but if you're a 00 SD fan, I think you'll have a good time building this one. :-)
