SD BB Senshi

00 QAN[T]

Kit Review

Straight build

Following the SD releases of the 0 Gundam and 00 Gundam line, the 00 Qan[t] — the next step in that lineage — has now been released as a BB Senshi kit. The abundance of clear parts that are so characteristic of the Qan[t] are nicely reproduced here, giving it a somewhat premium look for an SD kit. ^^

The Qan[t] is based on the 00 Gundam by nature, but the head, torso, shoulders, and weapons are all completely different, so it doesn't really feel like just a variation. On the other hand, the arms and legs reuse existing SD 00 Gundam parts, which means articulation is still a bit stiff, making it tricky to pull off really dynamic poses.

In terms of what's included... the GN Shield packed with clear parts is all here, along with the GN Sword V's combination function into the Buster Sword/Rifle mode, and a dedicated stand is included so you can pull off a variety of action poses. The Qan[t]'s uniquely complex GN Shield even features a Twin Drive open gimmick, so the kit does a solid job of recreating the Qan[t]'s signature features.

On top of that, as a BB Senshi original feature, you can borrow the support mecha from the SD Exia Repair to recreate a massive weapon loadout, and there's also a combination function with the 0 Raiser — so there's quite a bit of extra content packed in here.

This kit is significant in that the stylish 00 Qan[t] has been given a solid SD treatment, and it's one of those rare SD kits that uses a notably large amount of clear parts, which gives it a real edge. Either way, if you're a fan of the 00 series and the Qan[t], this is definitely an SD kit worth having fun with. :-)
