The AGE series has made its way into the SD lineup, with the Gundam AGE-1 leading the charge as the first release. What's interesting is that it comes as a full set that lets you swap between all three variations — Normal, Titus, and Spallow — which means the contents are relatively generous and the price bumps up to 1000 yen accordingly.
The overall proportions have clearly taken on a changed feel that seems influenced by Kotobukiya's D-Style, with slightly slimmer proportions and a smaller head giving it a more refined look. Sure, it loses a bit of cuteness as a result, but it gains in coolness, so it's a bit of a trade-off.
Swapping between the Normal/Titus/Spallow is done just as the design intends — by replacing the arms, legs, and skirt sections — and the process itself is simple enough that you won't run into any trouble. The color separation is decent too, so the color differences between each form come through clearly, and I'd say the overall quality as a swap kit is pretty high. ^^
The SD AGE-1 comes with an original BB Senshi gimmick called the AMEMBO — a stand that lets you store all the leftover parts after building one of the three forms. On top of that, the weapons for each form are all included fairly thoroughly, and the Titus even comes with two beam effect parts, which is pretty rare for an SD kit.
Overall it's a clean, well-made SD kit with a high level of polish, and it'd make a fantastic gift for anyone who's a fan of the AGE-1. Even if you haven't been following AGE, this looks like it'd be a fun build. :-)
