The Full Armor Unicorn was released in SD BB Senshi form at the same time as the HGUC Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode. The base body uses the existing BB Senshi Unicorn Gundam as its foundation, but a number of improvements have been made along the way.

The previously released BB Senshi Unicorn Gundam had no color separation for the psycho-frame on the arms and legs, which made the Destroy Mode look a bit awkward. This Full Armor version, however, has completely revised arms and legs, with the green clear psycho-frame parts now nicely exposed. The arm parts are brand-new, fully redesigned for this Full Armor release, while the legs reuse the upgraded parts that were first introduced with the BB Senshi Banshee.

Thanks to that, the SD Unicorn in Destroy Mode now looks just about perfect. On the flip side, when transforming into Unicorn Mode, only the head, shoulders, and upper body can actually be changed over, so the Unicorn Mode look ends up being even more half-baked ^^; That said, the Full Armor Unicorn is all about that flashy Destroy Mode anyway, so in the end it all works out just fine.

The Full Armor package — which is really the whole point of this kit — is faithfully reproduced in SD style, and it manages to look surprisingly three-dimensional with relatively few parts. The weapons are small and light, which means there's none of the weight stress you'd get with the MG or even the HGUC, and since the propellant tanks touch the ground and act as a support, it stands just fine without a stand. And of course, when you put it on a stand for action poses, there's absolutely nothing to worry about!

The runner volume is actually more than your average HG kit, which is why the price came out to ¥1500 — but compared to Kotobukiya's D-Style, the value for money is a blessing ^^; Anyway, with the psycho-frame exposure in Destroy Mode now looking perfect and barely any hollow areas to speak of, this is hands-down one of the best SD kits out there in terms of volume and visual impact — a true gem of an SD kit :-)
