SD Cross Silhouette

Crossbone Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build

The second SDCS kit is the Crossbone Gundam X1 — it uses the same shared SD frame as the First Gundam, with Crossbone Gundam X1 armor fitted over it. Unlike the old BB Senshi kits, SDCS is a standardized lineup, so nearly all the core characteristics are the same across the board. The articulation is your typical SD-level stuff, but joint strength and stability are still solid, and just like before, the proportions have been given a sleek redesign with excellent color separation that keeps sticker use to a minimum.

For weapons, the Beam Zanber and Zanber Buster are both included via swappable parts — though the weapons themselves have no color separation or stickers at all, which makes them feel a bit plain. Beyond that, there's a gimmick where the face mask opens up, and the brand marker on the forearm can be detached and fitted onto the hand.

Just like with the First Gundam, swapping in the separately sold Cross Frame gives you a slimmer, more distinctive look with better articulation to enjoy. It's a clean, well-made kit with solid quality all around, so if you're a Crossbone fan, this one's definitely worth having some fun with. :-)
