SD Cross Silhouette

Zaku II

Kit Review

Straight build

The fourth SDCS release is the mass-production Zaku II — a kit that puts Zaku II armor over the gray SD universal frame. The proportions are a huge step up from the old BB Senshi kits, though the articulation isn't all that different, so posing can feel a bit limited in SD Frame mode. That said, thanks to the clean color separation and more refined proportions, it still looks pretty sharp even in a simple pose.

Weapons include a machine gun, bazooka, Heat Hawk, and a missile pod. The Heat Hawk even comes with clear parts, giving it a really premium look. On top of that, the mono-eye — done up with a pink clear part — can rotate left and right.

As expected, swapping in the separately sold gray Cross Frame gives you a slimmer, more distinctive look with better articulation. The knee and elbow joints move, so you can pull off some genuinely dynamic action poses. All in all, it's a clean, great-looking kit — an absolute must-have for anyone into SD-style Zakus. :-)
