This is the SDCS Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex, released as part of the SD Cross Silhouette series. The basic setup stays true to the SDCS concept, but unusually, both an SD frame and a CS frame are included in the box. The separately sold CS frames only come in gray/white or Zaku green/pink, so since this kit needs a black CS frame, it seems Bandai just bundled it in. That said, the price does go up to ¥1400 compared to other kits as a result.
Swapping from the SD frame to the CS frame isn't anything new, but given that Gundam Barbatos has an exposed frame and articulation is a big part of its appeal, the CS frame really does make a noticeable difference here. And even though this is an SD kit, it still packs in a forearm sub-arm gimmick, a tail blade launch gimmick on the back, and a rear skirt mount for the giant mace. The SDCS rotating eye swap gimmick comes with two sets of eyes, so you can have all four eye seals applied and switch between them freely. You also get two hand types — an open hand and a weapon-gripping hand — though since there's only one back-of-hand part, you'll need to swap it back and forth between them.
All in all, this is a pretty loaded SDCS kit for what it is, and if you're a fan of Iron-Blooded Orphans, this one should be a lot of fun. :-)
