SD G Generation

Jegan

Kit Review

Straight build

The 4th SD is also the Jegan from Char's Counterattack.
It's based on BB Senshi No. 10 Jegan with Armed Enhancement Type parts added, and despite being an early vintage SD, it shows surprisingly solid quality. It's quite the contrast to the previous kit, the Jagd Doga.

Building the Jegan first, the sharpness of the molds really stands out compared to other SDs of the same era. As you can tell just from the photos, while other contemporary SDs tend to have soft, rounded details, the Jegan has a relatively crisp, sharp feel by comparison. It's a kit from the 1980s, but even the base molded colors feel like something from a 2000s release. Barely any step gaps either — nice!

In addition to the standard Jegan type from the anime, this kit also lets you swap the arms and weapons to build the long-range Armed Enhancement Type as a G Generation bonus (a.k.a. the "Stark Jegan"). That said, the Armed Enhancement Type arms are single-piece parts, so the back is completely hollow. The Armed Enhancement Type bazooka has a closed barrel (;;) but the inside is hollow too, so if you're the type who likes filling things with putty, this one's going to eat through a fair amount of it.

Anyway, despite being a vintage SD, it's an interesting kit in a lot of ways and definitely worth recommending as far as old-school SDs go ^^
