The Gelgoog has been SD-ified in J. Ridden's custom configuration.
It's essentially BB Senshi No. 15 Gelgoog with a high-mobility backpack and a Gelgoog Cannon backpack added in. Just like the BB Senshi version, you can swap the shoulders, arms, and backpack to convert it into the Re-Gelgu.
The SD Gelgoog has this inexplicably cute charm to it — probably because the original mobile suit already has a somewhat animal-like(?) look to begin with, which makes it even more so in SD form. Those round little limbs and head are just adorable, kuhoo~ In Gelgoog configuration, you can equip either the standard high-mobility backpack or the cannon pack, and you can also mount the shield directly on the back like the mass production type or Char's custom. It seems to cover all the standard Gelgoog options.
One unique highlight is the beam naginata dedicated right arm. The hand is wound up internally with a rubber band (just like those old rubber-powered submarine toys from way back), so you wind it up several turns in one direction with your finger, let go, and it spins back the other way with a whoosh~. It's been a while since I've seen a mechanism like this, and it's genuinely fun ^^
The spring-launched missile/BB pellet gimmick is of course(?) included, but it's only available on the Re-Gelgu's left arm part. The Re-Gelgu's missile flies over 50cm in a really smooth, clean arc — it seems to go more than twice as far as other SD kits.
One thing to watch out for: the Re-Gelgu backpack's peg size is slightly different from the other two Gelgoog backpacks, so after you plug in and remove the Re-Gelgu backpack, the hole on the back gets a bit loose. After that, the Gelgoog backpacks won't stay in securely, so you may need to reinforce the pegs on the Gelgoog backpacks with a dab of super glue or some tape wrapped around them.
The detail is a bit soft, but it's got that signature SD cuteness, and as a bonus it even recreates the Re-Gelgu — a mobile suit that's pretty rare to find in injection-molded kit form. It's a little odd that they went with J. Ridden's unit instead of the more common Char's custom or mass production type, but I suppose we should be grateful that we at least get to see that cannon pack that J. Ridden always carries around..? ^^
