Kit Review

V Gundam has also been released as a G Generation SD. It's essentially BB Senshi No. 124 V Dash Gundam — released back in 1994 — with a fan-shaped beam saber and two beam guns added to the lineup.
First off, just like its predecessors F90/F91, this kit is noticeably bigger than the older early-era SD Gundams. That gives it more of a three-dimensional feel and better proportions, though it does lose a little of that classic SD charm in the process.
This SD V Gundam comes packed with not just the standard normal-version head but also the Hexa-version head, the Dash backpack, and a full set of weapons. On top of that, all the combination parts needed to build the Core Fighter, Top Fighter, Bottom Fighter, and Core Booster are included — it's safe to say every part you could want for V Gundam is in the box.
Of course, all the transformations are swap-out style as you'd expect from an SD kit, which means a fair bit of disassembly and reassembly, but thanks to that approach each configuration holds together well and looks pretty convincing for an SD.
Due to the limitations of the SD format, a lot of the color separation is handled with shiny seals instead, but even so this is a meaningful kit as a full-option V Gundam. If you're a V Gundam fan, this is definitely a fun one to build. :-)
