The Gouf, one of the icons of the Zeon lineup alongside the Zaku, has made its appearance in the G Generation SD lineup as the Gouf Custom from 0083. The G Generation Zaku came out so early in the line that it had a very old-school feel to it, and on top of that, the size difference is pretty noticeable when you put them side by side. In terms of size, overall quality, and cuteness, the Gouf Custom feels like a huge step forward.

Along with its big bald head, the left arm weapons are also reproduced — though unfortunately the gatling gun didn't make the cut, and only the triple missile launcher and shield are included. The gatling is basically what the Gouf Custom is all about, so that's a bit of a letdown. On the plus side, the heat saber and the coated-wire heat rod are both included.

It's a shame the gatling gun is missing from the SD Gouf Custom, but in terms of that adorable super-deformed style, it's still a highly recommended SD kit. It's easily one of the top-tier items in the entire SD lineup, so if you like it, you'd better grab one before it sells out :-)
