SD G Generation

Shenlong Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build

The fifth entry in the ongoing SD Wing Gundam series is the Shenlong Gundam. The beam parts for the Beam Glaive are handled with seals, just like the Deathscythe, and a good chunk of the body also requires seal work — so the overall workload is pretty substantial. It looks like it'd be quite a tricky kit to paint too ^^;

The biggest highlight of the SD Shenlong Gundam is the special articulated Dragon Fang gimmick on the right arm — it features a multi-joint mechanism that folds away and can be extended straight out. Even the MG Shenlong wasn't quite at this level, so it's a pleasant surprise to find a gimmick like this on an SD kit. Feels like a little bonus gift!

Like most of the other SD Wing series kits, it does require a pretty hefty amount of seal work, but aside from that, it's a solid SD kit that faithfully recreates the original mobile suit. :-)
