Gundam GP04

Kit Review

Straight build

The Gundam GP-04 from 0083 has been given the SD treatment — and it's quite a rare one since you can't find it in any other scale. The Gerbera Tetra, which is essentially a modified version of the GP-04, did get a kit release, but the original GP-04 itself never appeared in the anime and never got a scaled plastic model kit either.

The overall design and color scheme gives off a vibe like it's a follow-up to the GP01, and the design is clean and the kit came out looking really nice — it's quite a sharp-looking SD kit. That said, the sink marks on the back of the arms and on the rifle are noticeably chunkier than on other kits, which is a bit of a shame since they're really hard to miss, and the weak shoulder connection that keeps popping off is another downside worth mentioning.

Anyway, it's an older SD kit, but the clean look keeps it from feeling too dated, which is a plus. More than anything, since this mobile suit is nearly impossible to find in other scales outside of resin kits, it's definitely worth tracking down if you're a 0083 fan. :-)
