The Gundam Blue Destiny Unit 3 has gotten the SD treatment. In terms of lore, it's a spare unit built using the Gundam Ground Type as a base along with leftover parts from Units 1 and 2. As a result, the design is nearly identical to the Ground Type — which makes it a bit odd that the Ground Type itself never got an SD release, while the Blue Destiny version did.

The overall kit is on par with older-style SD kits, and it still has that characteristic heavy hollowing on the arms and weapon parts. One standout feature is that it comes with as many as five weapons — more than most other SD kits — though the moving van backpack that was included with the SD Ez-8 is not in the box.
