The massive mobile armor (MA) Quin-Mantha has made it into the SD lineup — and since it's a rare one you don't often see in other scales, it's all the more welcome. Given how enormous it's supposed to be in lore, the width is about as wide as two regular SD kits side by side, though the height is surprisingly modest and on par with other SD kits.
The huge shoulder binders and insect-like silhouette are well captured, giving it a sleek, voluminous look while still keeping that SD charm and cuteness. The green and yellow molded colors are nicely mixed together, and there's some decent detail worked into the inside of the binders and rear skirt as well. On top of that, you even get a little gimmick where two small panels can be attached and removed from the rear skirt.
Since it belongs to the older generation of SD kits, the sink marks on the arms and beam saber parts are a bit of a letdown — but this is a mobile suit that feels fundamentally different from other SD kits right from the start, so the building experience has its own unique feel to it. Even if it's short, the wide proportions give it plenty of personality, so if you're a fan of SD kits, this is definitely one I'd recommend giving a try. :-)
