The Qubeley, with its somewhat eerie design, has been transformed into an adorable SD character. It originally had this alien-like look, but with the SD's signature stubby body and oversized head — while the shoulders remain just as massive as ever — it's completely flipped into a cute little Qubeley. ^^
First off, this kit delivers some unexpected satisfaction with the independent front/back movement of the shoulder binders, the signature neck joint for flight mode, and even some detail work inside those big shoulders. Due to its nature, it's molded entirely in white, so the straight build looks pretty plain, but a bit of seal work brings out a proper Qubeley look without much trouble. The only minor gripe is that the seals only go on the front, leaving the back still looking pretty bare.
Another quirky touch is that the two hands are asymmetrical — the right hand is a fist and the left is open. It'd be nice if they'd included a few different hand shapes, but that's not really common at the SD level, so it is what it is.
It's a small kit, but it's probably the biggest "surprise factor" in terms of SD's signature cuteness, and for its size it's got great volume with no hollow areas — so it looks like it'd come out looking fantastic with a paint job. It's a great SD kit that any Gunpla fan should try at least once, and especially if you're into painting SDs, this one's a strong recommendation. :-)
