SD G Generation

Z Gundam MS Collection

Kit Review

Straight build

This kit is the SD Z Gundam MS Collection, a combined set of Zeta, Hyaku-Shiki, and First Gundam. The SD Zeta Gundam included is 100% identical runners to the normal release, while the Hyaku-Shiki comes in a gold-plated version and the First Gundam comes molded in Titans colors.

First off, the gold-plated SD Hyaku-Shiki is exclusive to this kit, which alone makes it worth picking up. The gold plating quality is on par with the HGUC/MG Hyaku-Shiki gold-plated versions — it does pick up fingerprints pretty easily, but the overall plating quality feels more than good enough.

The BB Senshi First Gundam molded in Titans colors is a fun surprise — the deep, heavy color scheme gives it a really weighty kind of charm. Normally you'd expect something like a Magtop to be included, like in the Gryps set, but who knows why they went with a Titans Color First Gundam instead. ^^; Either way, it's unique enough to have its own appeal.

It would've been an even more complete special version if they'd at least changed the Zeta Gundam's molded color too, but the Hyaku-Shiki and First Gundam are unique enough that this is still a pretty solid package overall. If you've got your eye on that shiny gold-plated Hyaku-Shiki in particular, this one's a must-buy! :-)
