Nebula Blitz Gundam

Kit Review

Straight build + Panel lining + Seals

The Nebula Blitz Gundam has been released as part of the VS Astray series, based on the 1/100 Blitz Gundam. The overall body is the same as the Blitz, with the face mask changed and two new weapons added on both sides of the waist. And instead of the original backpack, it sports the wings from the Gold Frame Amatsu, making this kit essentially a mashup of the Blitz and the Amatsu. The color scheme has been completely changed to all-red, which gives it quite a different feel from the original Blitz — and as always, red just seems to work really well in the Gundam universe.

The Blitz Gundam's ankles were a bit on the weak side to begin with, but despite the large wings being added, you can thankfully still stand it up without too much trouble. The articulation on the base body isn't great, so pulling off really dynamic action poses is tough, but the sheer volume of the kit means you can still get some decent-looking poses out of it.

In a way it's a kitbashed kit, so it's not exactly the most exciting thing out there, but just like the rest of the VS Astray series, the appeal is being able to build a decent-looking 1/100 kit at a low price without too much hassle. :-)
