This is the 1/100 Gundam Astray Blue Frame Second L Clear version — one of three No Grade SEED kits released as 2009 Asia limited editions. It naturally invites comparison with the Red Frame clear version that came out alongside it...

With the Red Frame, the red color of the frame felt like it was killing the outline of the body lines, but going to blue, the silhouette is much more defined compared to the Red, and the sculpt really comes through nicely. On top of that, the Second L's design has a lot of complex stuff going on by nature, so it ends up looking a lot more flashy than the Red Frame too.

With the normal version Second L, the weight of the backpack was putting a strain on the joints... but with the clear version, the joint strength has improved, so it holds up fairly well standing straight even with that big backpack on. Of course, I'll need to keep an eye on it over time, but it does seem at least a little better than the normal version...

The kit's design is inherently flashy to begin with, so it's got quite a strong presence even among clear versions. Personally, this is my favorite of the three clear versions in this set — it's just a fantastic clear version. :-)
