Here we are with the 4th HG variation of the Zaku Warrior. This is the Zaku Warrior Live Concert version — a unit dressed up in a soft, pastel pink color scheme and adorned with all sorts of cute little seals. In the Gundam SEED Destiny anime, this is the unit that appeared at the live concert of Mia Campbell (aka the fake Lacus), the girl who served as a stand-in for Lacus Clyne, the singer of peace.
First off, the pink molded color is incredibly pastel and pretty. Looking closely at the molded color, it really is quite lovely.. though depending on how you look at it, the nature of the color can give it a bit of a candy-toy vibe (you know, those little toys that come packaged with snacks). So when I first saw the runners, I thought it might be too bright.. but once it was all put together, the color looks great. It really pops. The seals that go on the chest and shield are adorably cute in their own way too. The Haro seal in particular is a personal favorite ^^;
Since this is purely a molded color variation, the structure, articulation, joint characteristics, and weapons are all identical to the original Zaku Warrior. Well.. the base kit is such high quality to begin with that the overall kit quality is still really solid. For a detailed review of the kit's construction, please refer to the HG Zaku Warrior reviewThe Zaku Warrior series is just so well-made that even all these cash-grab variations are hard to stay mad at ^^;
Anyway, the fact that it looks so vibrant and pastel-pretty even straight out of the box with no paint is more than enough to make this kit worth picking up for a while. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to build something a little different and adorable. It might just be the ultimate Gunpla gift for your girlfriend ^^
