Kit Review

The Infinite Justice Gundam, one of the coolest-looking Gundams from the SEED series, has been released as an HG kit. The molded colors and color separation are fairly clean overall, but unfortunately the purple sections on the wings only have seals applied to one side — so when it's mounted on the MS, the front side looks dark and bare, which is a bit of a letdown.
The highlights of the HG Infinite Justice are the nicely reproduced flight unit Fatum-01, along with the various beam parts that attach to the wings, knees, and shield, all of which are well done. The knee articulation also bends quite a bit more than other HG kits, which gives you a bit more flexibility when striking action poses.
There's also a separate stand connector part included specifically for displaying the flight unit, which makes action poses on top of the Fatum-01 possible. That said, actually getting the Infinite Justice Gundam body to balance on top of it is quite tricky since it's hard to get the angle right. Also, a universal 1/144 stand is not included with this kit, so you'll need to borrow one from another kit if you want to display it properly. On top of that, the same issue seen with the Justice-type kits crops up here too — the beam sabers on the side skirts have weak retention and keep falling off.
Overall, this is a pretty high-quality kit — it reproduces a wide range of features well, and the joint strength is solid enough to hold various poses without flopping around, which is definitely worth noting. Either way, if you're a fan of the Infinite Justice Gundam, this is an HG kit you'll have a lot of fun building. :-)
