Kit Review

The Legend Gundam, successor to the Providence Gundam, has been released as an HG kit. It comes equipped with an upgraded Dragoon system, and the proportions have improved as well — the chunky upper body has slimmed down a bit for a sleeker look.
Just like the HG Providence, the Dragoons can be detached and reattached, but the biggest highlight of the HG Legend is the 6 included effect parts that let you recreate the Dragoon launch scene in style. Following the previous HG Freedom, effect parts have been included in consecutive releases — and since you rarely see special accessories like these in larger scales like 1/100, this is definitely one of the perks unique to the HG grade.
This kit doesn't include a 1/144 stand, but it does come with a Legend Gundam-exclusive stand adapter. Borrow a stand from another kit and display it in a mid-air pose with the effect parts, and you can pull off some seriously dynamic scenes. Articulation is about average, but these accessories make posing a lot of fun.
On top of that, the double beam saber combined weapon is well done, the Legend's signature semi-folding / 90-degree-raise backpack is nicely implemented, and the beam shield and other accessories are all faithfully included.
Overall, this is a kit that pairs improved proportions with solid feature recreation — if you like the look of it, it's definitely a high-quality HG kit worth recommending. :-)
