Alongside the Strike Freedom, the Destiny Gundam — one of the most popular mobile suits from SEED Destiny — has been released in HG form. Right off the bat, the color reproduction and proportions are pulled off really well, coming very close to the 1/100 version, and the overall quality is solid with above-average articulation and sturdy joint strength.

First off, all of Destiny's signature accessories are generously included — you get the large and impressive Wings of Light along with various beam parts. The Destiny's signature beam cannon/beam sword gimmicks are all reproduced with movable mechanisms, the shield is detachable with an extendable length feature, and a beam shield plus an open-hand (blast pose) hand are also in the box. On top of that, a 1/144 scale stand and dedicated connector parts are included for aerial display poses, making this a fully-loaded kit despite being HG grade. ^^

In particular, combining the stand with the Wings of Light allows for a spectacular display that can easily rival many MG kits — and I think the biggest selling point of this kit is that it delivers an impact you just can't get from the 1/100. It's great to see effect parts being done so well at the HG level, following the Strike Freedom and Legend.

You can tell some real care went into this kit, as befitting such a popular mobile suit. If you're interested in a compact but content-packed HG Destiny, this is definitely a kit worth picking up :-)
