This kit is the Dearka custom version of the HG Blaze Zaku Phantom, and it's a 100% color variant kit with the exact same configuration as the mass production type and Ray's custom. In short, there's nothing new aside from the molded colors — but since it's a pretty solid kit to begin with, it seems like they're rolling out a variety of lineup entries through color variants like this.

Compared to the previous Rey's unit with its brighter color scheme, the Dearka custom sports a very deep, dark gray tone that gives it a much heavier feel — quite different from the other Zaku Warriors. That bold, weighty color scheme is really the biggest selling point of this kit, and the yellow verniers covers add a complementary color contrast that makes for a pretty unique color combo.

The Zaku Warrior base body isn't exactly outstanding in terms of articulation, but thanks to the Blaze Phantom's naturally chunky, beefy look, it pulls off a great silhouette even with minimal posing. On top of that, the strong color scheme makes it look even more imposing — so this seems like a variation that'll have its fair share of demand.

Anyway, there's nothing new here beyond the color scheme — but then again, the color scheme itself is the whole point of this kit. If you're a fan of Dearka or just want a Zaku Warrior with a heavier, darker look, this is a good quality kit that's definitely worth enjoying. :-)
