This kit is the HG Gundam Astray Gold Frame released as a Club G exclusive. Honestly, it wouldn't have been strange at all to see this as a regular retail release, but just like the Amatsu, it went straight to exclusive status. ^^;

The contents are pretty much what you'd expect — it's based on the new HG Astray body with the poop-colored frame, plus the newly added bazooka as a new weapon. The Gold Frame bazooka holds up pretty well compared to the 1/100 version overall, though unlike the 1/100, the white sections are handled with stickers here. Then again, the 1/100 didn't even come with stickers, so you could argue the HG actually comes out ahead on that one. ^^;

Since the base body is built on the completely redesigned HG Astray from 2013, it features cleaner color separation, more refined detail, and sturdier joint strength. That said, it would've been so much better if the Gold Frame had come with actual gold plating — but it seems like they're saving a plated version for yet another separate exclusive down the line. ㅡ,.ㅡ

Anyway, the poop-colored frame is still a bit of a letdown, but this is still a meaningful exclusive for including the first-ever 1/144 scale Astray bazooka alongside the new Gold Frame in HG form. :-)
