Together with the HG Aile Strike Gundam Remaster Ver.

The second kit in the HG SEED Remaster series is the Duel Gundam Assaultshroud. Just like the Aile, it comes with updated molded colors and new Remaster version seals, though no separate stand joint part has been included. Instead, the hip parts have been slightly modified so the kit can plug directly onto the straight peg of the Action Base 2.

As for the molded color changes: the white armor is a touch brighter, the joints and weapons have been switched to metallic colors, and the gray parts for the Assault Shroud armor have been changed to a dark gray with the bluish tint removed. And just like the Aile, the metallic-colored joints give the kit noticeably better joint strength.

Being able to mount it straight onto a stand without any extra joint parts is a pretty worthwhile upgrade. Compared to other Remaster versions where you have to spread the waist apart by plugging in a separate part, this method holds more securely and looks much more natural — so it feels like a step up.

In the end, just like the Aile, the small changes add up to make this a slightly better product than the original. If you're looking to pick up an HG Duel Gundam for the first time, the Remaster version is definitely the way to go. :-)
