Mobile BuCUE Remaster Ver.

Kit Review

Straight build

SEED's four-legged beast, the Mobile BuCUE, has been re-released as an HG Remaster Ver. It came out at the same time as the BuCUE's fellow four-legged newcomer, the Raigo. As you can see from the photos, the molded color change isn't very significant, and the joints that were switched to metallic molding aren't all that visible either — so if you're not comparing it side by side with the original, it's pretty hard to tell them apart.

On top of that, the kit was already designed to be mounted on a stand from the get-go, so it doesn't even need the stand joint parts that are usually the Remaster Ver.'s signature addition — meaning the biggest visual change is really just the added seals. The metallic joint parts could have also meant sturdier joint strength, but the difference in feel isn't as big as you'd expect. That said, the original's joints weren't loose to begin with, so it's not really a problem.

The kit itself has its own charm and is a decent build, but as a Remaster Ver. there's barely anything in the way of upgrades. The only silver lining is that it comes with a few more seals than other Remaster releases, I suppose... Anyway, it's a good kit, but it's hard not to feel a little let down that they didn't make the differences more clear-cut. :-)
