Justice Gundam, one of the more popular mobile suits from the SEED lineup, has been re-released as an HG Remaster Ver. Like the previous remaster releases, this one comes with updated molded colors along with added seals and joint parts. The subtly tweaked color scheme actually looks pretty nice. ^^
First off, the base pink molded color is now richer and deeper, while the body color has shifted from a brownish tone to a deep navy blue. On top of that, just like the previous remaster releases, the joints and weapons have been changed to metallic parts — though the backpack section keeps the same color as the original. At a glance it might not seem like much has changed, but the new color scheme gives it a strangely better feel overall. It's got that crisp, HD remaster vibe to it, if that makes sense.
On top of that, the joints switching to metallic molding has made them incredibly stiff and sturdy — the difference from the standard ver. feels even more noticeable here than with other remaster releases. That said, the joints have gotten almost too tight to the point where posing can be a bit of a struggle, so it does feel slightly overdone in that regard.
And one of the key highlights of Justice Gundam is the pose with the massive FATUM-00 backpack spread open in flight — and to really pull that off properly, a stand is pretty much essential. In that sense, the Remaster Ver., which is designed to work properly with a stand for aerial poses, has a clear advantage over the original, which was a bit awkward to put on a stand.
In the end, while there aren't any sweeping changes overall, the various improvements add up to make this Remaster Ver. kit a definite upgrade over the original. Even if you felt the original HG version was just slightly lacking, this is a great kit to revisit and enjoy building all over again. :-)
