Club G HGAC

Leo-N

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the HGAC Leo-N, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. Like the previously released Club G HGAC Leo-S / Leo-Rit's a mobile suit from New Mobile Report Gundam Wing Dual Story: G-Unit. With this, the mobile suit lineup for the Stardust Knights trio from the story is now complete.

In terms of lore, it's based on the Leo, so some parts are reused from the HGAC Leobut 90% of the parts are newly tooled. Overall, the chunky design and proportions are well captured, and it shows solid color separation along with decent articulation and joint strength. The joints move smoothly and hold their positions well, making it an easy kit to pose.

That said, the waist and shoulders do tend to pop off occasionally during posing. The waist in particular has a limited range of motion, so if you bend it even a little too far, the upper body tends to come apart — something to watch out for. Also, due to the design, the head is practically fixed in place and doesn't rotate well. The poses can look dynamic, but the head ends up facing straight forward, which can feel a bit awkward.

For weapons, it comes with a Warrior Axe and two beam sabers. The Warrior Axe is an original weapon added specifically for this kit — it doesn't appear in the source material, and it feels like it was thrown in as a bonus since the accessories would've been pretty bare otherwise. Still, for something included as a freebie, the gold markings are nicely color-separated, so it looks great and really makes a statement.

All in all, it's a solid HG kit. Lately there have been a lot of polycap-less HGs with overly stiff joints, so it was a refreshing change of pace to get a kit that moves smoothly. Either way, if you're a G-Unit fan or just dig the style, this looks like a fun kit to enjoy. :-)
