This kit is the MG Stark Jegan, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. Based on the MG Jegan D-Typereleased through Club G, it features a massive amount of newly sculpted parts. It's finally made it to MG, a full 13 years after the HGUC Stark Jegan came out.
First off, with 6 new runners added, the overall sculpt and silhouette are clearly differentiated from the standard Jegan. It's well executed with lore-accurate gimmicks, excellent color separation, and MG-level detail. The leg additional armor in particular is packed with mold detail all the way through the inner frame and inside of the armor panels — you can really feel the developer's dedication in the design. The additional armor running across the torso, shoulders, and legs fits snugly onto the main body, and even the cockpit section with its new additional armor can have its hatch opened.
The distinctive backpack is also nicely realized at MG level, and the triple missile pod on the shoulder can be used as a detachable option. Open the hatch on the forearm weapon rack and you'll find 2 grenade launchers stored inside, which can also be swapped out for 2 beam sabers. On top of that, a dedicated hand part has been added for the newly included Hyper Bazooka, so it's been thoughtfully designed to hold it securely.
Since the basic structure is the same as the MG Jegan, it still delivers excellent articulation and solid joint strength. The bulk has increased with all the additional armor, but the joints are more than sturdy enough to handle it, so you won't need to worry at all about poses holding. As a bonus, thick premium PET seals — which don't often make it into MG kits — are also included, applied to the triple missile pod and backpack thrusters among other areas.
Overall, it feels like it turned out better than expected. Variation kits can sometimes feel a bit half-hearted, but the Stark Jegan was clearly built with real commitment and care. The ¥6,800 price tag might feel a little steep even accounting for the Club G factor, but when you look at the quantity and quality of what's been added, it's hard to argue with. Either way, if you've been waiting for an MG Stark Jegan, this looks like it'll deliver — though it's a shame it wasn't released as a general retail kit so more people could get their hands on it more easily. :-)
