Gundam Astray Goldframe Amatsu

Kit Review

Straight build + Seals

This kit is the RG Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. It's based on the RG Gundam Astray Gold Frame Amatsu Minareleased as a standard retail kit, with changed molded colors and newly added sculpting. The legs reuse runners from the existing RG Gundam Astray series.

The silhouette looks similar to the Amatsu Mina at first glance, but the biggest design difference is that the legs and feet have been changed to the standard Astray form. On top of that, the two Totsuka no Tsurugi that were mounted on the Amatsu Mina's side skirts, along with the Okitsu no Kagami and Tsumuha no Tachi attached to the left arm, have all been removed. The Trikeros Kai and the lead wire for launching the Maganno Shirahoko are still included, though.

In exchange, the normal Astray's shoulder and thigh parts have been added to recreate the Amatsu's unfinished state, and a newly sculpted shield section for the original Trikeros has been added as well. There's also a newly sculpted Rondo Ghina Sahaku figure. Everything else is basically the same as the Amatsu Mina, so you still get excellent articulation, solid joint strength, and that impressive Maganno Ikusachi deployment gimmick.

All in all, this kit is notable for faithfully recreating the original Amatsu's look, and being able to display it in the unfinished state with the newly sculpted parts is a nice bonus too. Either way, the build quality is solid as you'd expect from an RG kit, so if you like the style or you've been waiting for the original Amatsu, this is one you can grab without hesitation. :-)
