Premium Bandai RE/100

Den'an-Zon

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This is the RE/100 Den'an-Zon, released as a Club G (Premium Bandai) online exclusive. At first glance it might look like a color variant of the RE/100 Denan Geireleased through Club G, but only the hands and the stand joint parts are reused — look closely and you'll see it's a completely different design, with the remaining 98% of the parts being all-new tooling.

First off, compared to the old 1/100 Den'an Zonreleased back in 1991, this one comes with updated proportions featuring a smaller head and torso. It's been a full 35 years in the making, and the quality difference is night and day. The overall joint structure is very similar to the RE/100 Den'an-Gei, with excellent polycap-less articulation and joint strength. Thankfully, the joints feel tight and secure without any stiffness, and the movement is nice and smooth.

The signature weapon, the Shot Lancer, can have its lance section launched and detached, and the secondary grip is articulated too, giving you plenty of display options. The beam shield swaps out four inner parts for four beam parts, which is a bit fiddly, but you can selectively attach the beam parts to show certain sections open. The two beam sabers can be stored inside the rear skirt, though the space is tight and makes swapping them in and out a bit awkward. On top of that, you can flip the part behind the eyes front-to-back to switch between two different eye detail looks.

So, following the Den'an-Gei, the Den'an-Zon has finally gotten a modern-quality remodel as well. It's a mobile suit with a really distinctive charm — that helmet reminiscent of a German military helmet, and an overall design that has a strong medieval weapon vibe. The base quality is solid and well done, so if you like the style or you're an F91 fan, this seems like a kit you'll definitely have a good time with :-)
