Batman 1/35

Batmobile (The Batman Ver.)

Kit Review

Straight build + Stickers

This kit is the 1/35 Batmobile (The Batman Ver.) released to commemorate the theatrical release of The Batman. Alongside it, the 1/35 Batmobile Dark Knight Ver. & and the Batman Ver.— both originally released as EX Model kits back in 2005 — were repackaged and released together, though The Batman Ver. is the only one with an all-new sculpt.

Overall, this is a car model kit that comes with the kind of premium quality you'd expect from Bandai — smooth material feel, satisfying assembly, and excellent three-dimensionality. It's not quite as sharp as traditional car models from Tamiya, Fujimi, or Aoshima, but it has that distinctive Bandai charm that comes from their precise mold engineering. Personally, I've built plenty of car models from other manufacturers, but the fact that you can enjoy this level of assembly quality and depth as a 100% snap-fit kit is really impressive. You can also feel a clear step up in quality compared to the 2005 Dark Knight / Batman Ver. Batmobiles.

Beyond that, the exposed engine detail at the rear is excellent, and you can remove the top and side covers to peek inside. Aside from the front wheel steering gimmick, it's a completely static display model, so there isn't much else to explore beyond taking a close look at the exterior details.

All in all, it's a high-quality Bandai-style car model, and if you enjoyed The Batman, this seems like a kit well worth building. :-)
