This kit is Avatar Fumina released in the Figure-rise Standard series. She's a new Hoshino Fumina character from Gundam Build Metaverse, built on the design format of the 30 Minutes Sisters girl-pla series. Her weaponry is based on the Gatling Smasher spec of the HGUC G-Line Standard Armorreleased through Club G.
First off, this is hands down the most girlpla-like kit of all the Fuminas released so far. Previous kits often drew complaints because two out of three face parts had to be applied as waterslide decals, but this kit has all three faces beautifully tampo-printed. Thanks to that, the eye placement is spot-on and she finally has the pretty face you'd expect from a proper girl-pla.
Not just the face — the body construction is also based on the latest 30 Minutes Sisters girl-pla format, so it shows improved articulation and joint strength compared to other Figure-rise Standard kits. The layout is very similar to Kotobukiya's girl-pla, which could be considered its predecessor, but it delivers that reliable Bandai feel in terms of assembly and movement.
Visually, the color separation is really well done, so you get a colorful look even without using many seals. The molded colors are also quite refined, giving it a vibrant yet clean straight-build appearance. Weaponry is limited to just a single short beam rifle, but the Gatling Smasher and binders on the backpack move freely, so if you make good use of them you can pull off all kinds of dynamic action poses. On top of that, you can remove the ear decorations on her head and choose between two hair lengths for the front and sides, which lets you recreate the original Fumina's hairstyle as well.
So it finally feels like we've gotten a truly "girlpla" Fumina — she's got a gorgeous, colorful look and a solid articulation structure. Even those who've been disappointed by previous Fumina kits should be able to pick this one up without any hesitation. Should've put this much effort in from the start... Anyway, across all manufacturers and lineups, I'm calling this the highest-quality girl-pla girlpla ever released. :-)
