Straight build + Stickers
Alphamon from the Digimon series has been released as part of the Figure-rise Standard lineup. Like the previously released Dukemon / Omegamon X-Antibodyit's a black character sporting a PET material cape. The cape skeleton parts are actually straight-up reused from the Omegamon X-Antibody runners, and some of the skeleton parts are also recycled from Dukemon.
While some parts are reused like that, all of the main body's exterior is brand-new sculpting. The striking black and gold combination gives it quite a flashy look, and it delivers excellent articulation with solid joint strength. The PET material cape also has a premium feel to it, and just like the Omegamon X-Antibody, you can detach and reassemble it into a spread-out configuration. As for weapons, the holy sword Graydalpha is included, along with effect parts for the Digitalize of Soul and a one-handed grip.
The overall quality is top-tier for an action figure model kit — there are more parts inside than you'd expect, so assembly takes quite a while, and the sticker work plus putting together the PET cape is pretty hands-on too. That said, it's a kit that clearly had a lot of effort put into its development, and honestly it makes me think there must be quite a few Digimon Adventure fans among the Bandai developers.
Either way, if you're a Digimon fan this is definitely an appealing kit, and even if you're just drawn to the look and style, I think you'll have a pretty satisfying build experience. :-)
